Purchases in foreign currencies are converted on the day on which the transaction is electronically processed by the issuer. There may be several days between the purchase date and processing date. This depends on when the transaction is forwarded to the issuer by the retailer. In addition, the rate for the day before the processing date is used for individual transactions with Mastercard for technical reasons.
Yes, the applied exchange rates are still listed on the credit card statement for every transaction. Besides the rate, the handling fee percentage for foreign currency transactions is also noted.
